What's this? Ben agonising over whether people are interested in what he says? Somebody check he's not been kidnapped by the Lithuanians and replaced with an imposter.

[...] While I was thinking more about beautiful code and design I was once again confronted with the idea of blogging. A little while ago Ben already wrote some stuff about what to blog?. However I think the question might be even more fundamental than that, should you blog at all? Now I might have to add that this is not my first blog, I used to have a blog (Aug 2004-Oct2006) where I wrote some more personal stuff so my friends and family could read what I was up to after I moved to England from Fryslan. After a while though I closed my blog for a number of reasons. I thought it took too much time and I felt there wasn’t enough interaction going on. However one particular thing I didn’t feel comfortable with is that a large part of my life was open on the Internet for all to see. It wouldn’t take more then a Google for my name and the information was right at your feet. [...]

You think too much. :)

...or I think too little, either way, blogs seem to have become the successor of 'vanity webpages', allowing the creator to priortise and discuss whatever topic is relevant to them and theirs.

And there's nothing necessarily wrong with that.
In fact, I find the worst blogs are created by those who wish to create a very distinct online persona aka the ones who are over-analytical about their blog content and the many possible ways it could be perceived.

At least, that's my justification for my adopted 'off the wall' approach :)
